FOR OUR PARTNERS IN MISSION:  Church Army – Marylebone Project

This project is one of the largest women-only hostels in the U.K., and offers life-changing support to women in need through domestic abuse, mental health issues and/or substance abuse. It also provides a 24/7 drop-in centre – a life-line for vulnerable women in London. Do pray for this wonderful ministry and for the women who access it.

FOR MISSION IN OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY: Bumps & Babes
Pray for all those who worship together with their children each Monday morning and for all the team who lead and serve them.

APPOINTMENT OF RECTOR – The Revd. Tom King currently Assistant Curate to the Bridgnorth and Morville Team Ministry in the Diocese of Hereford has been offered and accepted the invitation to become Rector of the Benefice of Rushden w St. Peter, Newton Bromswold. Tom will be Instituted and Inducted on 3 July at St Mary’s at 3.00pm. Please pray for Tom, his wife, Vicky, and their children as they prepare to move to Rushden, and for all at St. Mary’s and St. Peter’s as we prepare to welcome them.

LOOKING AHEAD

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK – 15 -22 MAY – On Sunday’s 15th and 22nd May there will be special envelopes in church so please bring some cash if you would like to make a donation and put your envelope on the plate at the back of the Church.  Edna would like to thank you all in advance for supporting Christian Aid.

UKRAINE – WEDNESDAY 18 MAY – 7pm –  The next meeting to continue thinking about our response as a church to the Ukraine situation will be held in the Pemberton Chapel in church. Do come along and share any useful information or contacts that you may have.

WHO LET THE DADS OUT – SATURDAY 21 MAY – 9.30am-12noon – in the Church Hall.  Monthly event for dads, stepdads, Grandads, male carers and their younger children [0-6yrs]. Adults £5: children free.

ASCENSION DAY – THURSDAY 26 MAY – 7.30pm  – Service of Holy Communion at St Peter’s Church, Midland Road, Rushden.

LADIES GROUP – WEDNESDAY 8 JUNE – 2.15 pm – in the Church Hall.   Speaker: Mr. Jack Pishorn ‘Chester Lodge’. 

HOMES FOR UKRAINE SUPPORT NETWORK – SATURDAY 11 JUNE – 11am – 12noon – A meeting for those who are applying, have applied or wish to know more about housing families coming from Ukraine will be held at Irthlingborough Library. Further details are on the poster in the church porch.    ALSO…  The Home for Ukraine Government scheme was launched on 14 March. It is open for Individuals and Organisations in this country: https://homesforukraine.campaign.gov.uk/.

CHURCH FETE – SATURDAY 11 JUNE – 2-4pm –  In the Church grounds and Hall – Can you help in any way?  Volunteers are needed to help set up and clear away, to serve teas and to supervise the children’s games.  Donations of candy, cakes, plants, gardening items, books and toys for the stalls would be appreciated.
